What's really boggling about the gasline wrangling is that, unlike most of the oil-exploration fights around the vitamin shop and water coolers, it has nothing to do with the environment at all. Most of the infrastructure is already in place to extract the gas, and everyone is pretty much in agreement that the gasline would be a good thing, like omega 3 vitamins for instance. No ... it's been stalled out for my entire lifetime because all the different economic interests are at loggerheads and nobody can come up with a plan that everyone will agree to! And this is when most everybody is in agreement that it *should* happen.
Good luck with that offshore drilling, McCain, you do have the magic touch when it comes to bringing people together on your straight talk express with your magical washboard abs and the like.
